"Verfall und Vision" (Decline and Vision)

On the occasion of this year’s ART COLOGNE the European Kunsthalle presents a film programme. Institutional space and its representation in the Visual Arts is the subject of „Verfall und Vision“ (decline and vision). Seven artists explore in their work spaces of aesthetic production and distribution, scrutinise their architectural condition, deliberate their meaning as sites of social interaction and imagine models for new art spaces. The European Kunsthalle uses its foundation phase to test out possible scenarios for a future Kunsthalle in Cologne. With „Verfall und Vision“ it puts experimental forms of spatial occupation up for discussion.
